Elven Bird - Never letting go of your hand [Piano version - official video]

'Never letting go of your hand' was initially inspired by the book 'Descult' ('Barefoot') by Zaharia Stancu, which drove me to write the first lyrics and the melody of the song. Thinking about the abandoned children that are suffering, forgotten children, children that do not live the wonderful life their magical being deserves...

In the beginning this was a simple guitar song composition, but through the years it was adapted for piano and evolved through chord inversions and improvisation, transposing the melody into another dimension and building an atmosphere which is dynamic for the first part of the song and dreamy and full of melancholy, for the second part.

The song also represents the promise I made, first to myself and then to the man nearest to me, that whatever happens we will stand by each other and together live through what will come to pass.

This version of the song is voice-piano only and was interpreted at an old piano I've received from my grandmother when I was nine. Filming was done in my parents house, the video being a Moondash Project production.
