Natural Everyday Makeup for Mature Skin

Hi loves! As you may have seen on the blog (or on social media!) last week, I invited my mom to the office for a Mother’s Day photo + video shoot and while she was there, I did her makeup! (You may recognize her from an earlier video, linked below!) I wanted to do a pretty, everyday makeup look on her that she could wear anywhere. As I’m sure you guys have learned, doing makeup on mature skin is a bit different, so I wanted to give you a few tips as well! I started by prepping her skin. This step is key for anyone, but it’s especially important when doing makeup for mature skin, because it makes the foundation stay in place and can smooth the appearance of fine lines. For mature skin, you should always use liquid or cream products wherever possible, since powders can settle into and emphasize fine lines. I wanted my mom to have a flawless complexion, so I used the Estee Lauder Double Cushion Stick Radiant Foundation and Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer for her base. To bring back some color, I used blush and bronzer. I use both of these products all the time, but especially on mature skin, they bring extra warmth to the skin. I did a simple eye look on my mom, using the Identity Palette, focusing on lifting her eyes, by using warm matte shades. For mature skin, use shimmers only on the center of the lid, since it can draw attention to fine lines elsewhere. Lastly, I applied mascara and some natural lipstick. Of course since she looked so beautiful, we had to go out to a nice lunch together afterwards!
