What is Derma rolling?
Also called micro needling, it is used to improve the collagen production in the skin.
So let's start by what is collagen, collagen simply is what makes your skin looks tight and younger, you can see the experiment that I did in my TV show explaining what collagen is and how does it support the skin.
As we age we lose the collagen in the skin and our skin tends to be saggy and we start to lose our facial contour, though it is a natural process I highly recommend to stand against the time and look younger as long as we can.
Derma roller helps your skin to produce collagen naturally without the use of any chemicals or any internal product.
Simply it cheats the skin; I'll tell you how it does so.
How does it work?
When the needles puncture the skin it creates tiny small channels, it tricks the body to think that those channels are injuries, so the body falls for the trick and produce collagen and elastin to fill those microscopic channels.

Using Derma rolling improves the absorption of skin care products, as the channels produced by the derma roller act like a Taxi that carry the active ingredients in your skin care products deeply into the skin.


How to use your Derma roller?
1- You must start by sterilizing your derma roller before and after each use.
2-Wash your hands and the area you want to treat; it would be great if you can use the facial steamer for few minutes before the treatment to open the pores.
3-Apply skin toner, I advise you to use just rose water.
4-If your skin is sensitive or you are afraid from the pain, use any numbing cream which should be applied 20 minutes prior to the treatment, examples of the numbing creams (Lidocaine and Emla).
5-You are ready for derma rolling; it should be used with short rolling movements in orderly manner without leaving a CM of the skin, also note that you have to keep same pressure on the device for all the treated areas.
6-You have to roll in 3 directions on each area horizontally, vertically and diagonal, while pulling the skin lightly with the other hand to ensure the needle penetration. Do not roll twice on a previously treated area in the same session.


How often you should use your derma roller?
The secret to getting tremendous skin improvement is to treat your skin every 4 to 6 weeks, your skin requires at least 30 days to fully recover as it will only damage new collagen fibers and will minimize skin development.
