Desperate relatives are appealing for news about Australians feared missing or dead in the wake of the New Zealand volcano eruption, as authorities warn they do not expect to find anyone left alive on the tiny island.

Three Australians are believed to have been killed in the White Island volcano eruption with fears for seven others.
