Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome (CVS) | Causes, Triggers (Dietary), Signs & Symptoms, Diagnosis, Treatment

Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome (CVS) is a chronic, functional gastrointestinal disorder involving paroxysmal and recurrent episodes of nausea and vomiting. The underlying etiology is unknown, but it is known that CVS is highly associated with migraine headaches and chronic fatigue syndrome. In this lesson, we discuss the proposed pathophysiological mechanisms behind CVS, certain emotional and dietary factors that trigger episodes, the signs and symptoms, how it’s diagnosed and how it’s treated.
