Her first novel The Island about the deserted Greek island of Spinalonga - a former leper colony - was published in 2005 held the number 1 slot in the paperback charts for over 8 weeks, selling over a million copies in the UK. The book has also been published in over twenty languages and has also been a number 1 bestseller in Greece. The Island was filmed as a TV series by the Greek TV channel MEGA and has had record-breaking audiences. In 2008, she published her second novel, The Return.
