INDIPOP singers in Disney Movies

Bringing forth a new video; a compilation of Indian pop (or Indipop) singers who have sung/voice acted in Disney films!

Predominantly, music has been catered to the Indian audience in the form of film soundtracks, since Bollywood, and other Indian cinemas largely create musical films since the arrival of sound in films here.
However, between the 80s and 90s, an independent pop music industry began to take shape in India, with many artists, bands and pop groups forming up and releasing singles and albums alongside music videos to great successes without being involved with films. This phase gave rise to the Indipop phenomenon, which not only gave rise to an independent music industry in India but also brought in various unique, western and fusion of Indo-western sounds in India's musical landscape. This phase sadly lasted only a couple decades, eventually fading out by the mid-2000s...when film music took over again. But its impact is still felt in the film and music industry, albeit sadly, a lot of the artists and songs from this era are forgotten.

Following is the list of indipop artists who voice-acted/sang for Disney films (which may be animated western films, animated Indian films or live action films) and are featured in the video alongside short clips of their most renowned hits :-

Some of these singers are more popular as film playback singers now, some have turned to acting instead, while some have sadly gone off the limelight...but they all have immense talent and have showcased it from time to time, making their place in one of the most iconic eras of India's film and music history. ;)
