The Warning - Survive - Mother of All Rock Festival 2017 - Monterrey, Mex

The Warning was the opening act at the 2017 Mother of All Rock Festival at Arena Monterrey. Recorded about 3:40 PM on 07-October-2017.

The conditions were anything but ideal for the band. This was the last song they played in their set. By the time they played this, they were onstage for about 40 minutes playing on a very hot day with the sun directly in their faces. The equipment had been out in the sun for some time before the band took the stage, giving them plenty of time to absorb more heat. Some difficulties that might not be apparent to the viewer include: the keyboard was so hot, Ale had difficulty playing it, the metal cymbals nearly burned Pau's hands when she grabbed them to silence them, and Dany's pants melted on her legs giving her blisters. During the long delay before the song, Pau also was being cooled with water in the back. Although she didn't show it, Ale was overheating as well. Technical problems were also present. Dany had to restart the song because her guitar was out of tune. Ale took over some lead vocals in this song, but her audio was not at full volume.

I had some of my own technical problems, too. By the end of this nearly eight minute video, my fone got so hot, I was barely able to continue holding it. It finally cut out just before Ale's final bass line. If it could have only held out five more seconds! :( The audio is of decent quality, but the camera remained out of focus for most of the song. Possibly the heat or maybe the very bright conditions.

I uploaded this video several days ago with a non-public setting for just friends to see. With all the problems the band had during this song - none of which was their fault - I was hesitant to make it public. In the end, I decided that this video not only showcases their great talent, but also how they successfully dealt with these difficulties and still were able to complete the song - one that I feel is their best to date.

Here's what Dany (and Ale) said during the delay:

Dany: Well, as you see something happened. The name of our band is The Warning. I am Daniela and I play Guitar.

Ale: I am Alejandra and I play bass.

Dany: And our sister back there is named Paulina. I am 17, my sister Alejandra is 12, and our sister Paulina is 15. We are super grateful to be playing on this stage that WOW! With some incredible bands that we can't wait to see. Are you ready? I am being serious when I say, I don't know what happened. But it seems there are some technical difficulties back here. They just told me it is the heat. But we are conserving some energy to end with everything in this super Festival! Here they come!! Ready! Thank you! Let's do this!

***Then after they had to stop playing beginning at about 2:29:

Dany: Pau, Pau, stop!

Pau: Seriously, we will continue in a second!

Dany: Thank you, we continue again one more time! Wooooo!
