Mobility Issues | Chronic illness day in the life of | Multiple Sclerosis | Neuromyelitis Optica
A small gardening job that should have only taken about half an hour took me FIVE TIMES as long, because of my illness and poor mobility. The sheer unbelievable frustration and challenges I'm faced with every day is very wearing.
After having a Multiple Sclerosis diagnosis in 2013.. recent MRI Scans, Blood Tests and even a Lumbar Puncture have all come back clear.
So what is wrong with me?
My diagnosis now seems unclear, the "Doctors" seem to think I'm somewhere between Multiple Sclerosis and Neuromyelitis Optica, a grey area as it were. In the mean time I continue to get progressively weaker almost every day with no balance, weak lower back and legs.
I'm very much at risk of falls, therefore I've installed security cameras outside so that my wife and I can keep a closer eye on each other.

*** Symptoms chronology ***
Early Symptoms started 2007:
Numbness, Burning, Tingling, humming, buzzing.
Skin sensitivity or Altered Sensation.
Squeezing sensation especially in the Legs.
Transverse Myelitis.
All of the above across my Feet, Legs, Hands, Tummy and Back.
New Symptoms starting Feb 2012 (Major attack)
Weakness, Spasticity, Abnormal Gait (walking as if drunk).
Extreme lower back weakness, Severe Chest Pain.
Anxiety, Tremors.
Feb 1st 2019 - I had my very first Lumbar Puncture (Spinal Tap)
March 2019 - After having a cold, I've been left with a blurred eye (right). This gets significantly worse after eating (body generates heat) or when I'm hot - Uhthoff's Phenomenon.
28.09.2019 - After seeing a Professor of Neurology on July 10th 2019, it is now suspected that I do not have MS at all.. instead I have a more sinister condition called "Neuromyelitis Optica" (Spectrum Disorder). This is a rare condition where by MS quite often can be diagnosed first by mistake. As if today however, THE DIAGNOSIS HAS NOT YET BEEN CONFIRMED, so until then I'm assuming it is still Multiple Sclerosis.
