ATL PlaneTrain - Doors Are Closing and Will NOT Reopen

In 1996, Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta International Airport needed a new voice on their famous PlaneTrain automated people mover system to replace the robotic HAL voice from the 1980s. Although the majority of this voice's announcements were replaced by another male voice in 2002, one line remained that has stuck in the minds of many Atlanta commuters and airline passengers: the system's famous platform warning "Careful! Doors are closing and will not reopen. Please wait for the next train." Even after the voice changeover, this ominous warning remained on the speakers of the platform gates until about 2015, when a new male voice actor took over and re-read this exact line.

Why does he say "doors will not reopen?" Back in the 1980s and 90s, the doors didn't actually reopen; you can find archived pictures of the ATL PlaneTrain stations where the gates have a red sign reading "Doors Do Not Reopen." For accessibility or safety reasons, however, a gate reopen function was implemented (as evidenced in this video posted from BehindFor17Hours in 2013: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QW-HB0r1l2A), but the voice stayed nonetheless.

Given that more people love this older voice, I just figured I'd put together a recording of what I could find of the original voice, pump up the volume just a little bit, and put it out for people to hear. I do apologize if the voice sounds muffled, but I couldn't find anything of greater clarity.
