The causes of osteoarthritis, could it in part be a metabolic condition?
Osteoarthritis is an extremely common condition affecting many of us as we get older. It commonly affects the hips and knees but can affect smaller joints also.
We use to think this was purely a 'wear and tear' condition causing the joint surfaces to wear. However, current thinking suggests the condition may at least in part be driven by metabolic factors and that the condition itself may be related to other factors such as being overweight, high blood pressure and diabetes for example.
In this short video Kieran offers some thoughts in the nature of arthritis and what we can do to help our joints.
We hope the video is helpful, any questions, please ask below.
