First test using Wolf River coil with data modes | Wolf River Coil | Amateur radio

I'm lucky to have access to a camping barn in a remote location. This allows me to enjoy the low noise level and try out antenna ideas.

In this video I have my first experience with the Wolf River coil SOTA special. The antenna receives well I picked up DX voice and FT8 contacts, I spent a little time trying to establish a DX contact but was only using 30 watts. At a later date I will give more time to transmitting through the antenna, however I expect like many coils, the receive is usually decent while there's a trade off with the losses on transmit.
