Russian Forces Bomb Chernihiv l Putin Still “Eyeing Kyiv” l Russia’s War Message To The West

Heavy fighting continues to rage in the Eastern and Southern parts of Ukraine on Day 78 of the war. Ukraine has offered to release Russian prisoners of war in exchange for the evacuation of injured Ukrainian soldiers from Azovstal plant. Ukraine’s General Staff said the Russian troops moved into defensive positions to slow down Kyiv’s counteroffensive. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko has reportedly warned of the possibility of Putin using a tactical nuclear weapon on Kyiv. Ukraine’s prosecutor general has said a Russian soldier will stand trial for committing an alleged war crime in Ukraine. Meanwhile, Zelensky said he discussed the prospect of increasing sanctions on Russia in a call with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz. Russian FM Sergei Lavrov said his country hopes its "special military operation" will lead to the end of Western world domination. Finland's president and prime minister announced their support for joining NATO on Thursday, moving the Nordic nation which shares an 800-mile border with Russia one step closer to membership of the US-led military alliance.
