Leather Skiving Demystified

Leatherworking is a multifaceted hobby/career. One aspect of working leather that seems to challenge the new and experienced alike is getting nice skived edges manually, without the use of a bell skiver or other device. In this video I cover the issues with the craftool super skiver, and the safety skiver. I show a technique that is easily repeatable and that I learned in only 5-10 minutes of practice using a Japanese style skiving knife.
