C418's ambient score for Minecraft has to be one of the most intriguing video game soundtracks of all time. Drawing influence from the likes of Brian Eno, Steve Reich and Erik Satie, Minecraft's music is dripping with character, yet remains humble and non-invasive during gameplay. Today I'm taking a look at how Minecraft wound up with this minimalist soundtrack and what gives this music its muted yet curious sound.

Thank again to MumboJumbo for appearing in this video! Check out his channel to witness some of his marvelous red stone creations: https://www.youtube.com/user/ThatMumboJumbo
