All you need to know about soil

In this video, I share in great details how plants evolved in nature, adapted to our nurseries/homes, and how we can help them thrive by trying to replicate their natural conditions in our homes. I discuss different medias available in my region, as well as their physical properties. I also show you some of my mixes (general, rainforest understory, and aroid) as well as preview of semi-hydro using LECA.

Summary:Soil needs to dry out between watering as roots need to breathe oxygen
Soil needs to have good aeration
Plants have “evolved” in their natural habitats, but have learned to “adapt” to our homes/nurseries living conditions, though they will “thrive” if we replicate their growing conditions to their nature.
Different plants do well in different soil, though most will tolerate a general houseplant soil
You can change your soil type to suit the species needs, or your watering frequency.
