In November 1966, the sleepy town of Point Pleasant, West Virginia, was forever changed when two young couples were chased from an abandoned WWII munitions facility (known as the "TNT Area") by a 7-foot-tall, grey creature with a ten-foot wingspan and piercing, glowing red eyes. Over the next 13 months, over 100 eyewitnesses reported seeing the bizarre entity that the press quickly dubbed the "Mothman".
The terror gripping the town was accompanied by reports of UFOs, mysterious animal disappearances, and eerie visits from strange, olive-skinned "Men in Black" who warned witnesses to stay quiet. Then, on December 15, 1967, tragedy struck when the Silver Bridge collapsed into the freezing Ohio River during rush hour, killing 46 people. Following the disaster, Mothman sightings in the area came to an abrupt halt.
