Lovebird's Sounds - Lemon & Melon - Rosy-faced Lovebird

Lemon and melon are a charming pair of rosy-faced lovebirds. The lemon is the yellow one, and it heads red all the way to the top. And the Melon is the green one, also red-headed up to the top. They are both full bodied and healthy. What I like about peach-faced lovebirds is that they have a larger body than the African lovebird personata and Fischer's. And also the peach-faced lovebird has a louder, fuller voice. I've never compared their size to a parrotlet. is it bigger or smaller? I don't know yet.

Here are Lemons and Melons when it was early on at our place: https://youtu.be/U-QJDHg0ido

Lemon and Melon have been with us since around May 2020. That's been quite a while. We brought them when they were young. They have grown well with us and we have learned a lot from them. This is real. I mean, this pair of lovebirds is one of the healthiest and most productive of the many lovebirds in our place. They produce a lot of healthy and strong lovebirds. And also have a big body like them.

These are some of their chicks that we managed to film:

Red-headed green opaline: https://youtu.be/b5MkVcVLP_g

And there's a lot more that we haven't filmed yet.

What we do to keep them productive and healthy?

Take care of their nutritional intake. We always provide healthy foods such as vegetables and dry egg food. The types of vegetables are different, when they are incubating the eggs and before they lay eggs. Keep the cage clean. Try to keep the lovebird calm and comfortable when incubating. Once they have finished raising their chicks, they are usually exhausted and this is a good time for them to rest. Take them out to the sun and fresh air. And this is the right time to clean the nest and prepare it for the next egg laying period. This is also a good time to provide vitamins for them. At this time, we can determine whether they should rest longer or can continue to enter the nest again. The important thing is, take care of their mental health. Mentally healthy lovebirds have a longer life span and good productivity even in old age.

This video is them now, when they have been with us for over a year. And they are on a rest period after last November raising a healthy chick. We filmed them when chirping and singing, and edited it into a video with a length of more than 7 hours.
