Ditching Blade for Electric Edger
As an Amateur Radio Operator I have a need to bury many wires just under the surface of the ground. This video is how I made a ditching blade to fit on my 1950-1960's electric edger to dig a 1 inch wide trench apx 2 inches deep to bury ground radials and coax in the yard away from the lawn mower. This would also work well for those underground pet fences. To put the wire in the bottom of the trench I found that a piece of 3/4 inch PVC worked well. Run the wire thru the PVC pipe and drag along the bottom of the trench while standing on the wire. About ever three feet you have to stop and stomp the ground in on the wire being buried, stand on that spot and moved up another three feet. Works well. The edger needs more horse power. I am thinking and old gas powered edger could be converted for a super duper trencher!
