The Byrds - Drug Store Truck Drivin' Man (vinyl)

He's a drug store truck drivin' man
He's the head of the Ku Klux Klan
When summer rolls around
He'll be lucky if he's not in town
Well, he's got him a house on the hill
He plays country records till you've had your fill
He's a fireman's friend he's an all night DJ
But he sure does think different from the records he plays
He's a drug store truck drivin' man
He's the head of the Ku Klux Klan
When summer rolls around
He'll be lucky if he's not in town
Well, he don't like the young folks I know
He told me one night on his radio show
He's got him a medal he won in the War
It weighs five-hundred pounds and it sleeps on his floor
He's a drug store truck drivin' man
He's the head of the Ku Klux Klan
When summer rolls around
He'll be lucky if he's not in town
He's…
Songwriters: Gram Parsons / Roger Mcguinn

At the end of the song, the singer dedicates the music to "Ralph".

"The song was a payback number to Disc jockey Ralph Emery, whose all-night Opry Star Spotlight radio show made him a hero to long-haul truckers, who listened as they drove all night. The Byrds were not Nashville stars - they were, in his mind, hippie rock musicians who had no business in Nashville and whose music, despite recording an album laden with country covers, had no business anywhere near the music he played." - Rich Kienzle - @tertainment-living/get-rhythm/item/41435-the-byrds-postscript-drugstore-truck-drivin-man

The Byrds was formed in Los Angeles, California, in 1964. The band underwent multiple lineup changes throughout its existence, with frontman Roger McGuinn (known as Jim McGuinn until mid-1967) remaining the sole consistent member. Their signature blend of clear harmony singing and McGuinn's jangly twelve-string Rickenbacker guitar was "absorbed into the vocabulary of rock" and has continued to be influential.
