Google Pixel 4 XL vs 3 XL | What's changed?

Comparing Google's new Pixel 4 XL flagship smartphone versus last year's Pixel 3 XL, running through what's been upgraded - the camera tech, performance, battery life, specs and software features.

One of the biggest changes comes from that rear camera, with a new dual-lens setup for the Pixel 4. This adds a secondary lens that is switched to when zooming in on photo and video capture. You can also shoot smarter HDR pics on the 2019 flagship compared with last year's model.

Performance has been upgraded for the Pixel 4 XL, which now boasts a Snapdragon 855 chipset and 6GB of RAM. The battery capacity has also been boosted, although the juice seems to drain rather quickly from this new model.

You get the all-new Android 10 OS on both of these Google phones, unsurprisingly - although the Pixel 4 and this XL model also boast some unique and exclusive features that you won't find on the other, older handsets. These include proper face recognition, the Motion Sense radar feature, and of course full 90Hz screen refresh rate support.

Check out my unboxing of the Pixel 4 XL to see how it compares versus the standard smartphone, and you can also watch my full review now!
