Rare car indeed! The 1942 model year was very short because of defense production. This is indeed a smart sedan...there was some competition within GM as to whether the fastback model or the notchback would be direction for sedans...eventually the notchback won, although the fastback would make a comeback in the Marlin, Charger and Barracuda. Today's sedans seem to mirror the fastback and its teardrop shape rather than the notchback with a distinct trunk line of yore.
