The best Van Heating System? Hydronic hot air and water.

A warm van for winter camping. Hot water for warm showers. And heating both the air and water three ways! What a great DIY van camper heating system and ideas for your hydronic or other camper or RV heating system. I use an Espar D5 hydronic heater, the Sprinter factory D5 heater, a thermostatic valve, a three-wall electronic valve, silicon tubing, a coolant-rated auto air-purge valve, an IsoTemp Slim hot water heater with shore powered heating, and two AquaHot coolant to air heat exchangers inside my van, each with variable fan speed controllers to regulate heating output front and rear in my van. I also use BlueSea temp monitors for six temperature sensor locations in the heating system, inside and outside the van to monitor heating system performance. This is very similar to the Rixen coolant van heating system.

This is is a single loop heating system, a custom heating system off the engine, very similar to the Rixen hydronic heating system made for Sprinter vans.
