Building a Tillering Tree for Bow Making

Today in the AOC shop, I am taking a short break from working on a new Hickory flat bow, to make a new and improved tillering tree. This will be used for the tillering process, which is the act of removing wood/material from both bow limbs until they bend evenly at the draw weight that is desired. My previous tillering tree worked well, but I wanted to add a pully to the bottom so that I would be able to attached my scale, and pull down on the bow from a distance away. This will give me the added ability to pull different weights and look at the bow while its bending from across the shop. Without this tool, the bow making process is almost impossible, which is why I am taking the time to make a new one, and show you how its done.
