Alverno Presents - Lend Me Your Voice: Sylvan Esso- Wolf

Nick Sanborn: Lend Me Your Voice’ was a collaborative concert curated by Nick Sanborn and commissioned by Alverno Presents (the performing art series of Alverno College) and by Duke Performances (the performing art series at Duke University). The project explored the concept of the “sideman” musician by showcasing six different performers who were much like Nick: they each spent a lot of their time as sidemen (or sidewomen) for other artists, but also wrote and performed their own material. One by one, the musicians were introduced on stage and slowly formed a seven-piece ensemble, each member taking a turn leading the whole group. The project included Brad Cook (Megafaun), William Tyler (Lambchop, Silver Jews), Joe Westerlund (Grandma Sparrow, Megafaun), Alexandra Sauser-Monnig (Mountain Man), Chris Porterfield (Field Report), and Amelia Meath (Sylvan Esso, Mountain Man).
