Recorded Hawerby Park, 15-06 1975.When recorded the Gavioli it was owned by the late Don and Dorothy Robinson. Dichter und Bauer (Poet and Peasant) is an operetta in 3 acts by Franz von Suppé. It premiered on 24 August 1846 at the Theater an der Wien in Vienna.[1] The original libretto was based on Karl Elmar [de]'s 1846 comedy of the same name. In 1936, Gustav Quedenfeldt wrote a new libretto based on Suppé's composition version "C".
