Perfect 2 day plan for New River Gorge National Park- Ace White Water Rafting + Endless Wall Hike

New River Gorge National Park is the Newest National Park in the US. Since it is so new, here is the perfect 2 or 3 day plan for visiting the park! Here are the top things to do at New River Gorge! The park is known for White Water Rafting and the New River George. I explored both! Along with the longest arch bridge in the Western Hemisphere! This was park number 9 on my trip to every national park this year!

The New River Gorge has been a National River and Preserve prior to it's new designation as a National Park. This means the Rafting companies were already established as well as plenty of adventure sports. Including hiking, rock climbing and mountain biking.

I went with Ace Adventure Resorts for my rafting trip. I did the full day rafting trip and really enjoyed it! The beginning of the day was a lot of floating down the river with smaller rapids, but I enjoyed the time to float and enjoy the view from the river. They grilled hamburgers, chicken and veggie patties for lunch. Then we ramped up the rafting for the afternoon with 2 category 5 rapids, multiple category 4 plus some 3s and 2s. Turned out to be such a great adventure!

I hiked the Endless Wall to Diamond Point. Multiple people on my raft recommended it along with my guide. I had to do it and it did not disappoint! It was a short 2.5 mile hike with some steep uphills to get from the trailhead to the top of the gorge, but on a clear day the views were unbelievable.

I did check out the famous New River Gorge bridge when I arrived. Visibility was low, but created some unforgettable pictures. The bridge is right next to the visitor center and they have a boardwalk and (quite a few) steps to make it easier to view the bridge.

When you're trying to figure out what to do at New River Gorge rafting is the number one answer, then getting out and exploring the gorge and bridge. Leave some extra time to explore the towns of Feyetteville, West Virginia. It is a cute small town with places to eat and outdoor outfitters. Have fun!
