Revit - Making a deck with beam systems

This describes how to set up a deck with timber joists and decking that is individual planks, so that any sectional views show it as it will be in real life. The decking is a beam system, as are the joists.

The problem I had was that if you mix the two joist systems together on one level, it led to problems where one would interact with the other.

I solved the problem by making the decking on a separate level and applying an offset to it to put it in the right place.

You could of course save a bit of trouble by making the decking a floor.

After reviewing this video, I realised I made an error when aligning the 92mm wide plank. I picked the plank then the beam system. Which is the wrong way round! So that probably would have worked....
