Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian recently gave a shoutout to rapper Snoop Dogg, praising him for being an early investor in the social news platform.

While Reddit launched in 2005, it wasn't until 2014, during a growth spurt, that Snoop Dogg jumped on board. Back then, according to Ohanian, "very few people wanted to invest in us." Snoop Dogg, however, saw the potential in the platform, participating in a $50 million funding round.

This wasn't just a financial move for the rapper. Snoop Dogg himself is a Reddit enthusiast, and his belief in the platform helped solidify its early success.

Today, Reddit boasts a massive user base and a multi-billion dollar valuation. Snoop Dogg's investment savvy, coupled with his status as a web-savvy celebrity, proved to be a winning combination for the future of Reddit.
