Exploring The Oaks of Lower Hillsborough Wilderness Preserve

Hiking in the Lower Hillsborough Wilderness Preserve along the Hillsborough River and enjoying the amazing nature, wildlife and even a bit of history along the way. Located in Hillsborough County, Florida near Tampa, there are many areas to roam throughout this place which is vital to the Florida Wildlife Corridor and ecosystem here. Large Oak Trees tower above and you are immersed in this wilderness. During the 1500's Hernando de Soto and other explorers traveled through these same places and encountered many tribes. Native American Indians such as the Tocobaga and others as well throughout the areas here. The areas here are preserved for us to enjoy and take in the nature and experience the real Florida, the old Florida. Enjoy the adventure and thank you for following along, happy trails!
