Residential block in Kyiv is hit by Russian shell, at least one person killed

A RESIDENTIAL block in Ukraine's capital city of Kyiv was hit last night (March 13) by brutal Russian shelling that destroyed the homes of hundreds of civilians and killed at least one person, leaving many more injured.

According to Ukrainian Interior Ministry adviser Anton Gerashchenko, two people were killed and three were hospitalized.

After the fire was extinguished, emergency service workers were seen sorting through the rubble as local residents looked on.

Kyiv authorities said they were stockpiling two weeks worth of essential food items for the 2 million people who have not yet fled the capital.
