art talk cont.
hello hello! welcome back to my art spiel that i might look back on and delete LOL
i think what helped me the most (mind-wise) was not focusing on purely growing, but constantly reflecting back on what art meant to me when i started. Starting at zero made every bit of growth enjoyable to me, but later on the fluctuation of numbers made me realize that sometimes people are there just for the numbers rather than my art. At around ~200 followers i stopped focusing on looking at the numbers, I started drawing on airplane mode to avoid all notifications+ save battery, and I still do to this day! Even with my phone, i have all my social media notifs off cause i don't want it controlling me too much. Art was something that was supposed to be therapeutic, and at some points, i realized that I was drawing to the point where it wasn't as enjoyable anymore, and that's when i realized i needed to take breaks. TLDR, its also okay to take pauses with art. Art blocks are bound to happen. Don't rush it or else you'll only get closer to reaching burnout. If you go at your own pace, try out new things that you enjoy, you are bound to grow. :-)
