Yes, a hot tub can definitely go on a wooden deck. But before putting yours there, we need to know the weight of the hot tub, gallon capacity, and average number of people using the tub.

Then we can calculate the pounds per square foot. Decks built just above ground level can support up to 100 lbs per square foot, but decks built 2 or more feet above ground will likely need additional support posts.

But there’s a lot more to know about hot tubs and decks. After all, hot tubs, full of water and people can easily weigh over 5,000 lbs.

Need an easy way to calculate square footage? Check out this handy calculator from Calculator Soup - https://www.calculatorsoup.com/calculators/construction/square-footage-calculator.php

The opinions stated on this channel are my opinions having owned, operated, fixed, and/or purchased hot tubs a total of 4 times. They should not, however, be considered professional advice on hot tub electrical systems, hot tub moving or installation, hot tub placement, or any other type of professional or legal advice.

If you need professional or legal advice, you should seek out a qualified professional in your area.
