High Tor, Giddy Edge & Lovers Walk - Matlock to Matlock Bath - Exploring Chasms.

Its been a while since we've been in the big outdoors but it feels so good to be back. Full details of the walk below. It's a nice 4-5 mile walk which is relatively moderate if you don't go around Giddy Edge.

It offers spectacular clifftop views throughout. The walk is fairly strenuous and passes cliff edges with steep drops, so children must be supervised at all times.

WALK DETAILS
Start the walk from the Matlock Tourist Information Centre, next to the bridge by Crown Square roundabout. Cross the road and walk straight ahead along the treelined path through Hall Leys Park. You’ll pass a footbridge over the River Derwent on your right.

We then walked uphill towards the church and on your right you'll see a sign for Pic Tor and High Tor grounds. Go through into the High Tor grounds and continue your walk until you see a radio mast. Here is where you can decide to either stay on the path and continue through to the cable cars or bear right and take on Giddy Edge (not for the faint hearted).

Once you leave the High Tor grounds you'll see signs for Lovers Walk which will take you into Matlock Bath.

The walk features spectacular views, woodland and was ideal for Spring as there were plenty of wild flowers around. Enjoy!!
