John Du Pont was an eccentric millionaire who dreamed of becoming one of the most influential figures in American athletics. To accomplish this he created a massive training facility on the grounds of his family estate, inviting athletes from all over to come and compete for the illustrious Team Foxcatcher. One such athlete was David Schultz, an Olympic gold medalist who agreed to come work with the wrestling team at Foxcatcher, he had no way of knowing it at the time, but his decision to befriend John Du Pont would end up costing him his life.
