Europa gefühlsecht – The 4th estate” addresses chances and challenges for the further democratic development of Europe, targeting especially the role of media and education in this process. The CEU is located at center stage between Eastern and Western Europe and has been confronted with some of the most dangerous methods of anti-democratic and authoritarian communication, namely disinformation campaigning and conspiracy theories. Prof. Dr. Michael Ignatieff gives a broad insight in the recent events around the CEU, as well as into the role of Europe, politics, media and education concerning the safeguarding of democracy, rule of law and human rights.
