A major incident has been declared by the London Fire Brigade after a fire engulfed a building in east London

Two people have been taken to hospital and more than 100 residents evacuated

The whole of the building has been affected by the fire, a LFB official says, with firefighters arriving on the scene within five minutes of the first call at 02:44

Work had been under way to remove non-compliant cladding on the flats; the fire brigade says the building had a "number of fire safety issues" known to officials

More than 200 firefighters are at the scene in Dagenham. The cause of the fire is not yet known
