Wesley Mission offering ‘traditional Christmas lunch’ in Sydney on Christmas Day

Wesley Mission is offering a “combined church celebration” and a “traditional Christmas lunch” for people who sleep on the streets, to those who lead their own companies, says Chief Executive Rev Stu Cameron.

Christmas Day service and carols begin at 10am on Christmas Day at the Wesley Theatre on Pitt Street, Sydney.

The Community Christmas Day lunch begins at 12pm at the Wesley Conference Centre on Pitt Street.

“This morning we have a combined church celebration in our Pitt Street centre – we’ll have about 600-700 people come together from many different cultures from right across Sydney, right across New South Wales,” Rev Cameron told Sky News Australia.

“Then at midday, we have a lunch for around 300 people, and we’ll have people sitting around tables that sleep on the streets, people who lead their own companies.

“A whole diverse range of people coming together for a traditional Christmas lunch – ham, turkey, all the trimmings, Christmas pudding, some wonderful Christmas carols as well, so it’s going to be a fantastic day.”
