THE LOVE STARVATION ECONOMY / 13 CONVERSATIONS ABOUT LOVE shares some characteristics of one of Ocher's previous works: ALL OF MY PROBLEMS ARE IMAGINARY (BUT MY FRIENDS ARE REAL) - yet the focus shifts from the individual to the broad phenomenon of relationships in an international metropolis.
Ocher herself, along with a colorful cast of friends and acquaintances, speak of the commodification of love, an idealisation of the subject by cultural prefixes, the pressure of self-fulfilment through another individual, monogamy vs nonmonogamy and so on and so forth.
These conversations were then broken into several parts.
The subject was considered as study for a book, but multiple voices articulated findings much more diverse.
Thank you to:
Steev, Vena, Baltazar, Alice, Charlie, Konrad, Sophia, Sophie, Nina, Stephan, Gal, Cindy, Adrienne, Sarah, Christina, Tara, Kate, Juan, Megg, Paula, Joost, Stephie, Vero, Nadia, Doreen, Eleanor, Kirsty Matt, V, Stine, Liad, Peter and Julian.
And thank you to Dave Abramov for the new perspectives.
