Reinforced Concrete Floor Pouring
DESCRIPTION:
Workers guide fresh concrete down a chute onto steel mesh and a moisture‑control underlayer. The mix is spread evenly with shovels to fully cover the reinforcement and fill every gap. This creates a dense, robust slab ready for levelling and curing.
EDUCATION:
✅ Reinforcement benefit: Steel mesh adds tensile strength to concrete, preventing cracks under heavy loads.
✅ Moisture barrier: Perforated sheeting stops ground damp rising and reduces sticking to the base.
✅ Even distribution: Controlled pouring ensures uniform thickness and no hollow spots.
SPECIFICATION:
- Material: Ready‑mixed coarse‑aggregate concrete
- Reinforcement: High‑strength steel wire mesh
- Base layer: Perforated plastic membrane + levelling spacers
- Placement: Gravity chute delivery + manual spreading
- Application: Ground floors, garage slabs, and building foundations
ADVANTAGES:
✅ Long‑lasting strength: Concrete and steel work together for decades of reliable service.
✅ Weather resistance: Barrier layer protects against ground moisture and temperature changes.
✅ Fast progress: Direct delivery from the truck speeds up work over large areas.
✅ Stable base: A flat, solid surface simplifies later floor finishing work.
WORKING PRINCIPLE:
Concrete flows down the chute into place, then is spread to fully embed the steel mesh. As it hardens, the mix bonds tightly to the reinforcement, forming a rigid composite that resists both compression and tension.
WORK SAFETY:
⚠️ Wear rubber gloves and waterproof boots → avoid skin irritation from wet cement.
⚠️ Keep a safe distance from the discharge chute to prevent being struck or trapped by flowing concrete.
⚠️ Use eye protection and long clothing to guard against splashes.
⚠️ Stand only on firm, level ground to avoid slipping while working.
