Jaxson Dart Follows Danny Kanell In Making New York Giants History

Flashback to September 27, 1998.

Before he was breaking down games on Valuetainment Sports, Danny Kanell was making them, leading the New York Giants to a 34–16 victory over the San Diego Chargers.

Kanell was efficient and composed under center, completing 19 of 29 passes for 208 yards and tossing a touchdown while guiding an offense that controlled the game from start to finish. The Giants jumped ahead early and never looked back, snapping a rough start to their season with a dominant performance.

That win would stand as the Giants’ last victory over the Chargers for 27 years, until Jaxson Dart stepped in this past Sunday and ended the drought. Dart’s breakthrough made him the first Giants quarterback since Kanell to defeat the Chargers, connecting two eras of Giants football nearly three decades apart.
