In this 57th in a series of live discussions with Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying (both PhDs in Biology), we discuss the state of the world through an evolutionary lens. In this episode, we discuss the hunting of big game, basic math, the game theory of bail funds, and what makes a person, or a channel, far right. Did women hunt big game in pre-Columbian America? If you say 2+2=4 with anger—or with love—does that affect whether the statement is true? What is the game theory behind those bailout funds for vandals arrested during the Portland riots? Does asking these questions make us far right? When mathematically skilled people arrive at the answer “yes!” to the last question, we have to wonder why.
