FORAGING for FOOD in Ithaca UPSTATE NEW YORK

Carla and I enjoyed a morning of foraging in the forest, just outside of Ithaca, in upstate New York. Part of our tour today was in Buttermilk State Park. We walked and ate nonstop with our guide, Sarah. She introduced us to eating dandelions, wild mint, cat tails and other healthy herbs. She even pointed out poison ivy to be careful of.

We hiked from La Tourelle and Firelight Camps to the base of Buttermilk Falls with Sarah J. Kelsen, landbeyondthesea.com / Ecological landscape design in the Finger Lakes, NY

Foraging with Sarah cost $40 for a 90 minute tour. She really opens your mind to know the nature in your area. She does tours through Fire Light Camps: https://firelightcamps.com

We highly recommend a tour with her, and especially to travel and explore the Ithaca waterfalls and the Finger Lake region.
