Relax Despite Tinnitus

🧘‍♂️ Deep Relaxation and Tinnitus: Why Yoga Nidra and Other Practices Work

Have you ever tried Yoga Nidra? It’s not yoga in the traditional sense—it’s often called “yogic sleep” or non-sleep deep rest (NSDR). This practice uses guided body scans to bring you into a deeply relaxed state, activating your parasympathetic nervous system (your body’s “rest and reset” mode).

Here’s what happens during Yoga Nidra:
✨ Your brain waves slow down.
✨ Your nervous system calms, helping you reset.
✨ It creates space for deep relaxation that’s incredibly restorative.

But Yoga Nidra isn’t the only way to achieve this. Other tools like:
✅ Progressive muscle relaxation
✅ Guided meditations or body scans
✅ Walking meditations (paying attention to the world around you instead of being stuck in your thoughts)
can all help shift your focus and calm your nervous system.

💡 The key? Finding what works for YOU. Whether it’s deep relaxation, mindful walks, or meditation, these practices help create a break from rumination, reduce stress, and ultimately support your journey toward habituation.
