NLC and FCTA Workers Clash with Minister Wike at Industrial Court

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and workers of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) are demanding the removal of Minister Nyesom Wike, with a court hearing scheduled for today, January 26, 2026. The workers have been on strike since January 20, 2026, citing unpaid wages, promotion arrears, and unremitted pension contributions

The NLC has accused Wike and the FCTA management of wage abuse, pension diversion, intimidation, and gross violations of constitutional and international labour standards. The union has vowed to continue the strike until their demands are met, despite a court injunction restraining them from doing so .
