But also, like I said, if diamonds are important to you, then show out girl, I’m not mad at it! Just don’t let the desire of an expensive ring or wedding day delay you from receiving God’s blessing on your union. Because that ring won’t sustain you through the trials of marriage, only God will.

Don’t go into your marriage with debt over a ring or a wedding party. It’s not worth it! Put that money towards building a legacy together.

I wish we knew that 11 years ago. We were broke and in so much debt but Sean thought the value of the ring would prove his love and commitment to me and believed it was worth the sacrifice. It wasn’t until we had this conversation that freed him. We even decided to drop our lavish wedding plans and only spent $3000 for our dream wedding. #onlyGOD!

We got rid of that debt and we bought a $30 ring from Walmart that I loved so much. I recently bought this set from @themodgents to switch it up for our 11 year anniversary and both rings were under $100!! I loveeee them ya’ll😭. And Sean’s rings are a 3 pack from Amazon for $10 lol. Really, there’s no reason to be going into debt over these rings!

Do whatever is right for you, shop around, get the affordable ring, or the expensive one… do what makes you happy at the end of the day, just remember to keep the priority first. The actual marriage is so much more important than the wedding day or any piece of jewelry.

…..And I don’t know who needs to hear this but - don’t worry about the opinions of others, either! I was proud of my ring then when we had nothing and even more proud of it now as successful business owners, with our own home and debt free. Your bank account ain’t their business! Respectfully.😌💛
