Part 5 - Ontario's Forgotten River Series | Is It Still Worth Paddling the White River?

The 'Ontario's Forgotten River' series is a more detailed looked at the White River canoe trip that my friend Ben and I paddled in the summer of 2020. For a shorter summary of this trip, check out the documentary in the link below:

In episode five, we continue down the White River through a bonanza of rapids, one after another. With names like Little Owl, Hawkes, Railway and Cattlecar, there is a rapid for everyone. Some we scout, and others we scout on the run. Either way, they all provide challenges to keep us on the edge of our seats. Overall, we were amazed we could run so many of them with the low water, including all the rocks to test our ability to weave the canoe. Even though some runs were not pretty, we still managed to run everything except one unnamed rapid/falls. And as a bonus, we even perform one canoe-ballet move! Despite the really long day, we end it with big smiles and a greater appreciation of what the White has to offer whitewater paddlers.

This covers the rest of day 4.
