Sister Flees After Brother Found Dead In A Granville Neighborhood

an Diego – A man was found dead inside an apartment following a fight with his adult sister.

On May 22, 2025, at about 8:56 p.m., San Diego Police Communications received a report of a disturbance inside an apartment located at 6304 Rancho Mission Road, and items being broken inside that location.

At about 9:24 p.m., officers received an update that a female was beating her brother with a stick. Based on the physical violence, the priority of the call was elevated, and officers were dispatched immediately. When officers arrived eight minutes later, they found a male down in the living room area. They rendered aid to him, as did medics, but he did not survive.

Officers observed signs of a violent struggle inside the apartment, but no obvious life-threatening trauma was observed on the victim. He is described as a 62-year-old Pacific Islander. His name is being withheld at this time. Investigators will be working with the Medical Examiner’s Office to determine his cause of death.

The victim’s sister fled the scene prior to officers’ arrival. She is described as a 59-year-old Pacific Islander and currently considered a person of interest in the death.
