Why Did The Jedi Refuse To Use Blasters?

Every Star Wars fan knows that the Jedi saw blasters as deeply uncivilized, refusing to use these weapons despite their ranged capabilities. There are a few reasons for this. The first is simple tradition. The Jedi had used the lightsaber for thousands of years, ensuring it was deeply rooted in their culture, fighting techniques and teachings of the force. This long-standing use of the lightsaber also made the Jedi instantly recognisable, instilling awe and fear into the regular citizens of the galaxy. But most importantly, blasters were non-force sensitive mechanical objects which could only be used for offence. By contrast, lightsabers were slightly force sensitive and could be used for defence which better fit the Jedi philosophy.
