Grade 5 Performance: Metal Man (inspired by Black Sabbath's Iron Man)

This performance was about exploring dynamics, note length, and attitude. Rather than playing every note with the same attack, I experimented with digging in more aggressively, shaping the sustain of notes, and finding a tone that felt thick, punchy, and expressive while still cutting through the mix.

After trying a few different basses, I ended up dusting off my old Ibanez Mikro fitted with EMG Geezer Butler PJ pickups, which turned out to be the perfect fit for this riff and made me reconnect with the instrument all over again.
